The Regional Site Medical Director of Oak Park is a leadership position integral to the department, practice, and ROPPG. The role is focused on three primary areas:

  • Quality and Safety
  • Growth and Access
  • Service Standards

The regional site medical directors advance these three areas through work within the context of the practice and ROPPG operational structure. The medical director is appointed by the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) in collaboration with the department chairperson and within context of the role of medical director is accountable to both.

Within the Oak Park practice, the regional site medical director works in close collaboration with the administrative practice manager. The regional site medical director leads ongoing work to improve the organization’s defined metrics for quality, the patient experience, and growth and access to the practice. This requires the medical director to be an example of best practice in all of these areas, lead the practice team through improvement efforts, and manage limitations on success. The underlying goal of the role is to lead the Oak Park practice to high performance in all of the primary areas of work noted above.

The regional site medical director represents the Oak Park practice in the quality structure. In addition, this group will work on special projects.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Works with management and coordinates various interdisciplinary teams to execute the clinics policies, systems and agendas.
  • Improves the delivery of patient care.
  • Supervises healthcare providers.
  • Reviews results of patient satisfaction surveys and provides timely review and response for patient complaints.
  • Identifies, evaluates, and addresses/resolves medical and clinical concerns and issues.
  • Reviews and evaluates outpatient clinical practices.
  • Develops, reviews and implements policies and procedures regarding clinical care to ensure that they are clinically valid and consistent with current standards of care.
  • Collaborates with leadership, staff, and other practitioners and consultants to help develop, implement and evaluate care policies and procedures that reflect current standards of practice.
  • Helps the ROPPG leadership identify, evaluate, and address/resolve medical and clinical concerns and issues that: affect care or quality of life; or are related to the provision of services by physicians and other licensed health care practitioners.
  • Maintains utilization management and clinical practice standards through the application of the organization’s clinical criteria.
  • Actively participates in and leads discussions regarding the resolution of problems related to quality of care, patient safety issues and patient complaints/grievances arising at their site.
  • Regular leadership rounding on clinical areas to engage staff input, assess clinical operations and ensure regulatory preparedness.

Qualifications

1. 10 – 15 years of experience (preferred) in progressively more responsible healthcare leadership positions

2. Experience in an academic healthcare setting

3. Medical Degree (M.D./D.O. Required)

4. Established reputation as a leader in healthcare clinical management

5. Based on the particular portfolio, additional experience or academic credentials in key administrative or clinical areas may be required.
