Do you know how to model, control and optimize power systems and want to work in applied research? Then join our Siemens Technology research group in Princeton, NJ! As part of our Autonomous Systems and Control team you will participate in projects on energy automation, power generation, renewables integration, energy market and many more. In these exciting and challenging projects you will help to drive sustainability and resiliency of power grids with applications in Galapagos Island, Hawaii, the Rocky Mountains or our very own microgrid at our R&D campus in Princeton.
In this role you will work on-site in our Princeton, NJ offices. Remote work is not available for this role.
Together with an international team of researchers you will
• Contribute to industrial research projects for smart energy
• Collaborate and exchange ideas with experts in the fields of control, optimization and power systems
• Implement concepts and solutions in prototypes and hardware.
Required Qualifications
- An MS or PhD student pursuing a degree in Engineering
- Advanced knowledge of power system modeling and simulation, e.g., modeling of industrial power distribution systems
- Advanced knowledge in real-time simulator like OPAL-RT
- Programming knowledge in MATLAB and Simulink
- Domain knowledge in power systems
- Proficiency in English (verbal & written)
- Successful candidate must be able to work with controlled technology in accordance with US Export Control Law.

- Flexibility and adaptability to work in a growing, dynamic, interdisciplinary team of experts
- Team working attitude

• The pay range for this position is $36.00- $45.00 per hour. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications and premium geographic location.
