Your New Role
Based in Bakersfield, CA 93307, as a Superintendent at Ganem Construction, you’ll oversee the entire field operation—from boots on the ground to project completion. You’ll supervise field crews and subcontractors, enforce top-tier safety practices, keep schedules on track, and ensure all quality benchmarks are hit or exceeded.
Responsibilities include:

Leading and motivating crews to deliver timely, on-budget, high-quality results

Collaborating with Project Managers and Senior Superintendents on schedules, safety, and production

Holding regular safety meetings and enforcing on-site safety compliance

Managing subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers from mobilization to close-out

Handling RFIs, ASIs, permits, inspections, daily reports, punch lists, and as-builts

Reviewing drawings, specs, and contract documents to identify and resolve risks early

Walking job sites daily and ensuring a clean, organized, and professional work environment

Maintaining strong client, inspector, and community relationships throughout the project

Experience: 5+ years of commercial construction superintendent experience (ground-up, tenant improvements, etc.)

Software: Proficient in Procore and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Project, Outlook)

Knowledge: Able to read blueprints and manage schedules, safety, quality control, and project coordination

Education: High school diploma required; 4-year degree in Construction Management preferred

Certifications: OSHA 30, CPR certified; LEED AP or LEED training a plus

Skills: Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, time management, and decision-making abilities

Physical Ability: Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs, standing/walking for extended periods, climbing, kneeling, and working in active job site environments
