Job Title: SPA RECEPTIONIST

Department: Spa

Reports To: Spa Manager



Rate of Pay: 16.00/ hour + commission

Shift: Part Time, Year-Round Position – shifts will vary according to business needs


Variable Hours: Sunday-Saturday 9:15-8:00

WEEKENDS & HOLIDAYS REQUIRED



SUMMARY

Support and promote the image, service and standards of Sundance and the spa. Be a resource to guests and other staff on spa treatments, protocols and products. Be a team player, promoting the spa and other Sundance programs, events and other properties. Maintain the day-to-day operations of the spa’s front desk.



ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Promote a positive and healthy working environment for all spa staff.


Understand needs of the spa and take initiative to complete them.

Fulfill any reasonable requests of the staff members, guests and management.


Assist in creating an ambiance for relaxation.

Participate/assist in offering and clean-up of complimentary foot baths for guests.


Ensure guest satisfaction and comfort throughout the spa experience.

Communicate with management and other team members, regarding guest or service concerns.


Maintain front desk and all service areas.

Answer all incoming telephone calls in a friendly and professional manner.


Inform and educate clients about services and retail items.

Share the Sundance story of land preservation and environmental commitment.


Book/bill all spa services.

Exhibit sound judgment in maintaining treatment schedule.


Confirm appointments with guests and providers.

Greet guests and check them in and out, warmly with a smile, exhibiting excellent customer service.


Conduct opening/closing procedures according to spa policy.

Assist in keeping the dispensary clean and organized.


Support the recycling program.

Monitor all guest service and spa areas for cleanliness.


Restock spa/desk/self-serve refreshments supplies as required.

Punctual, consistent attendance and performance of job duties.


Hold other staff members accountable for complying with spa policy and/or procedure.

Present a professional and well-groomed appearance at all times.


Ability to multi-task and work well under pressure.

Perform other duties assigned by management.

ENVIRONMENTAL COMMITMENT

Support and participate in environmental programs associated with position: minimizing waste, recycling, energy conservation, purchase and use of sustainable products, education on environmental ethic, support vendors with similar ethic, decrease pollution levels, minimize the use of toxic chemicals, restore wild life habitats, and carpool with co-workers to minimize carbon emissions. All employees are invited to participate in environmental or Sundance Preserve sponsored events.



DRESS CODE

Sundance recognizes the impact that our image has on the guest’s impression of the resort and the perception of our ability to provide professional service to our clientele. As representatives of Sundance all employees including mangers are expected to be in compliance with the Dress Code determined for his/her department as defined in the job description or follow the standards below.



In order to best promote a positive, professional image that meets Sundance guest’s expectations, employees are required to dress in a professional, conservative fashion that is appropriate for their area. Please use the following as a minimum standard:

All aspects of the Personal Appearance policy (SPL#50) must be in compliance.


Employees are required to wear nametags at all times while on duty.

Clothing must be unwrinkled, clean, and in good condition (no rips, tears, or frays regardless of whether accidental or fashionably placed).


Blue jeans are permitted.

Men’s shirts must be tucked in.


Appropriate skirt length is from the knee to the ankle.

A tailored fit is required of all clothing.


Tank tops, halter tops tube tops, and spaghetti straps are prohibited.

Sleeveless shirts are permitted for females.


Bare midriffs are prohibited.

Proper footwear for your department is required.


Dress sandals are permitted for females.

Flip flops are prohibited in all areas.



Tennis shoes are prohibited unless there is a business need (ie: Mtn. Ops.)

Fashion sneakers are allowed within department approved parameters.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must possess exceptional customer service, telephone, computer, and organizational skills. Customer service and retail experience mandatory.



TECHNICAL/COMPUTER SKILLS

Must possess a working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets, internet navigation and electronic mail. Database and excel proficiency required. Knowledge in computer skills – ability to enter correct and appropriate information, regarding the spa, guests, services and transactions.



CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS


LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. Ability to read and write English. Ability to communicate with clients and coworkers in a pleasant and professional manner.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS


Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

REASONING ABILITY


Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
