Location: Castle Rock, CO

 

 

The role you’ll contribute:  

 

Follows a menu to prepare and cook food for patients, visitors, and staff members with minimal guidance. Responsible for following Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment Safe Handling Guidelines regarding food safety and sanitation. Will provide excellent customer services when working with patients, visitors, and other staff members. Oversees the quality of food being served and the cleanliness of the service and cooking areas. Mentors less experienced Nutrition Services staff.

  • Completes all duties of specific food production area.
  • Demonstrates ability to operate commercial food preparation equipment.
  • Ensures that all food prepared meets existing standards for quality, freshness, taste, and appearance.
  • Ensures the use of FIFO rotation system and properly labels and dates all items per policy.
  • Assesses requirements to avoid over/under production of foods. Identifies potential needs areas for continuous quality improvement and reports process improvement ideas to supervisor, manager and/or Quality Department. Participates in quality improvement initiatives.
  • Provides orientation to new staff and ongoing training for less experienced staff. Provides feedback to supervisor/manager regarding performance for annual evaluations and correction actions.

 

 

Qualifications

The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed

Required:

  • High School Diploma OR GED.
  • Three years of previous healthcare or commercial cooking experience.

Preferred:

  • CPFS Food Service Safe Certification.
  • Experience in hospital food service setting.
