Responsible for the management of both security and fire alarm monitoring systems, operating/monitoring communications equipment, logging shift activities, monitoring surveillance monitors and camera systems, processing required reports and making appropriate notifications. may be assigned a rank, as defined by client contract. Does not perform Security Officer duties except on a limited, relief or emergency basis.

Monitors a central point: alarm monitoring dispatching, dispositioning and archiving security and fire alarms; controlling and directing daily routine activities for security and fire personnel and affect command/control procedures for emergencies. Monitoring and operating Closed Circuit TV (CCTV), video systems, alarm-receiving equipment, and integrated access control systems.
Operates both security and fire alarm monitoring systems, operating/monitoring communications equipment, logging shift activities, monitoring surveillance and intrusion monitors, alarms and camera systems, processing required reports and making appropriate notifications.
Uses communication equipment to include, but not limited to, two-way radio communications, telephone systems, secure phone, satellite phone, paging systems, alarm receiving equipment, and computer equipment.
Dispatching of facilities personnel, site telephone operator services, plant access control monitoring, and after-hours Commuter Services Emergency Ride Home services.
Makes notifications to all management or designee(s) as required according to Post Orders, for all types of site incidents, emergencies, crises and exercises.
Monitors local and international crises involving assigned client and/or site as designated.
Ensures compliance of UL2050 standard for National Industrial Security systems (dispatching, response, weekly generator test, fire extinguishers, emergency lighting, equipment protection (tarps), training, etc., Maintains a positive, professional environment in full compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies, and procedures; acts to ensure that staff members understand and comply with applicable laws, regulations, policies and procedures.
Ensures all equipment is present and operational.
Maintains all logs, reviews and writes reports for incidents and emergencies using a Significant Events Log during assigned shift.
Minimum of one (2) years of additional education or related experience sufficient to meet the minimum requirements for state and local licensing and/or site standards as established by the company

Must undergo and meet company standards for background and reference checks, controlled substance testing, and behavioral selection survey, in addition to any mandatory licensing requirements


Competencies (as demonstrated through experience, training, and/or testing)

Must be able to meet and continue to meet any applicable state, county and municipal licensing or permit requirements for (armed or unarmed, as applicable) Security Officers
Must be able to meet and continue to meet any Company or client-required training standards
Knowledge of or ability to learn security operations and procedures
Ability to, hear, speak, and write fluently in English in order to communicate with employees and clients
Knowledge of or ability to learn security operations and procedures
Ability to provide high quality customer service
Courteous telephone manner
Intermediate skills in keyboarding, computer usage, and operating controls
Knowledge of and ability to learn computer systems


Maintaining composure in dealing with authorities, executives, clients, staff and the public, occasionally under conditions of urgency and in pressure situations
May be required to work overtime without advance notice
May be required to use vehicle in the performance of duties – vehicles include, but are not limited to, cars, trucks, electric carts, and bicycles.
May be exposed to or required to handle sensitive and confidential information
