Schedule: Full Time
Shift: 7pm-7am with every other weekend rotation.
Location: Covering the Kissimmee Inpatient Unit. Must be flexible to cover the Orlando and Altamonte Springs Inpatient Unit when census is low.
The role you’ll contribute:
The Inpatient Registered Nurse, including PRN positions, is tasked with identifying patient, family, and caregiver needs, and providing and supervising nursing care to patients in the inpatient unit in alignment with the plan of care, and following established policies and procedures. This role demands adherence to state, federal, and organizational guidelines to ensure the delivery of high-quality care and patient safety. It is crucial for this position to maintain organization and facilitate patient flow effectively. The Inpatient Unit (IPU) RN plays a vital role in offering outstanding customer service and is responsible for upholding relationships that respect all individuals equally. This position encompasses a broad range of patient care activities, requiring a proactive and dedicated approach to meet the diverse needs of patients while ensuring their safety and comfort.
The value you’ll bring to the team:
- Provides professional level skilled nursing care to patients and applies palliative nursing principles and techniques in the treatment of patients in the IPU.
- Conducts admissions assessments of patients being admitted to the IPU.
- Communicates with family members to apprise them of patient’s condition and provides nursing care, emotional support and education to the patient/family/caregiver.
- Answers patient’s call bell in a timely manner.
- Completes all required documentation for patient’s records in the electronic medical records database system in the prescribed manner, to include assessments, medications and treatments.
- Interprets and verifies physicians’ orders and develops and implements the patient care plan and physician’s plan of treatment.
The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:
Minimum qualifications:
- Associate’s of Nursing
- Active American Heart Association BLS
- Registered Nurse – State Licensure and/or Compact State Licensure In Florida
- Valid in state Driver’s License with current car insurance
- Bachelor’s of Nursing
- Member of national professional organization
- National certification in areas of practice
