Job Title: Pilates Instructor
Department: Spa
Reports To: Spa Manager
Rate of Pay: $55/class + Tips, commission on private sessions
Shift: Part Time Year Round/On-call
Varying shifts
Must be willing to work weekends and holidays
Instructors must report to work 30 minutes prior to their scheduled class time.

SUMMARY
Support and promote the image, service and standards of Sundance, The Spa and the Wellness Program. Be a team player, promoting health & wellness, Reformer/Mat Pilates classes, spa services and other Sundance activities. Provide excellent customer service to all guests.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to the following.
Aid in the operation of a resort Wellness program.
Ensure that each guests uses proper equipment for Pilates.
Lead classes on a general program.
Teach private classes on specialized Pilates programs.
Daily set-up and cleaning of Welnness areas.
Manage and maintain supplies stock and inventories.
Report any operational needs to the Spa Manager.
Promote services for the Spa.
Perform other duties assigned by management.
Guide/assist the guests through their pilates experience.
Fulfill any reasonable requests of the guests and management.
Ensure guest satisfaction and comfort during their class.
Communicate with management and other team members, regarding guest or service concerns.
Punctual and consistent attendance and performance of job duties.
Maintain proper start/stop times for classes.
Set the ambiance for relaxation.
Attend all educational events and meetings sponsored by the spa and Sundance.
Must be knowledgeable of pilates applications and a variety of styles.
Be a resource to guests on proper posture and body mechanics as well as a resource for information pertaining to the resort, The Spa, and its products.

Support and participate in environmental programs associated with position: minimizing waste, recycling, energy conservation, purchase and use of sustainable products, education on environmental ethic, support vendors with similar ethic, decrease pollution levels, minimize the use of toxic chemicals, restore wild life habitats.

EXPECTATION LEVEL
Knowledgeable about a variety of yoga applications. Knowledge of spa procedures a plus.
Exceptional Customer Service.
Present a professional and well-groomed appearance at all times.
Familiar with all applicable retail items and their applications.
Participation in all educational programs related to yoga, health & wellness, and customer service.



QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Associate’s degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Certified Graduate from a registered pilates school and at least 2 years of experience in teaching preferred.
Applicant must be willing to obtain certification.
Exceptional customer service skills.



TECHNICAL/COMPUTER SKILLS
Applicant must have competent knowledge of MS word applications, phones, and web-browsing.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Certification in Pilates.


LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.



REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
