Phlebotomist, Clinical Svcs Tech

Overview

The Clinical Services Technician performs routine laboratory tests and other procedures relative to this technical skill level for use in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases. Utilizes requisite equipment, instruments, and computer systems in performing those duties. Evaluates and reports patient results within the scope of established testing methods. Patient’s results are verified by a MLS I, II, or III prior to being released. The CST Performs quality control procedures and contributes to the maintenance of the laboratory, equipment, and supplies. Performs and appropriately documents routine maintenance and quality control procedures on specified equipment and troubleshoots as needed. Maintains knowledge and skills and applies appropriately in the performance of the assigned duties. Maintains age-specific and other required competencies. Works as part of a team with general supervision from technical or supervisory staff. The CST performs other duties relevant to the testing performed in the department.
