This position will be working onsite from Miami.


Position Summary:

The Lead of Trade Strategy acts as the primary liaison among Sales, Marketing, Go-To-Market, Revenue, Product Development, and Public Relations to ensure alignment with core brand initiatives. This role is pivotal in the proactive development of key strategic initiatives for the Royal Caribbean Sales organization and the broader travel partner community. The Lead of Trade Strategy creates actionable plans to address critical business needs. The sales team relies heavily on this role for guidance on the core strategies to ensure the success of each product.



Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Marketing and Revenue on forward-looking promotional offerings and trade incentives, continuously evaluating their effectiveness from the trade channel perspective and sharing key insights.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive strategic plans and communication strategies that align with organizational goals and objectives, while considering market trends, competitive landscape, and consolidating trade marketing activities for effective reporting to key brand leaders.
  • Maintain close relationships with sales leaders, both Regional and National Accounts, to devise trade strategies that align with product-level targets, fostering synergy and success. Identify insights, share key statistics, and ultimately create a comprehensive, integrated action plan for core product offerings.
  • Utilize historical reporting and key metrics to evaluate and recommend areas of opportunity, incorporating learnings into future planning efforts.
  • Work closely with Sales Analytics team to identify specific travel partners who have proven to stimulate awareness and demand on specified product(s).
  • Monitor the competition consistently and leverage competitive intelligence to effectively position brand advantages within the travel partner community.
  • Enhance trade loyalty through unique and engaging activations aimed at securing annual industry awards and recognitions via travel partner appreciation campaigns.
  • Leverage market segmentation and database management opportunities to implement a more targeted approach based on the strengths of various agencies.
  • Oversee special operational projects as requested, making recommendations to improve the overall efficiency and effectiveness of sales operations and functions.
  • Partner with Revenue to develop and implement new opportunities to create exclusive programs that will grow high value business across our full channel, improving retention and brand loyalty.
  • This role is crucial for maintaining clear communication to the Sales team out in the field, as they depend on to execute many of our core strategies.
  • Serve as the primary sales liaison for brand policies and procedures, ensuring effective and competitive alignment. Responsible for recommending changes as needed.
  • Lead project management efforts by establishing project timelines, defining deliverables, and coordinating resources to ensure successful execution, while facilitating regular project status meetings to communicate progress, identify roadblocks, and ensure alignment among team members.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 3-5 years’ experience in travel industry preferred.
  • Basic understanding of business performance metrics.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Clear and precise communication at all levels of the organization is required.
  • Experience and knowledge of the Travel Agency Distribution model preferred.

  • Strategic & transformational thinker, always questioning the tried and true to make our brand stand out amongst the competition.
  • Proven ability to assemble, lead, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement revenue maximization strategies, ensuring input and buy-in from all stakeholders.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of sales processes, sales organization, pricing strategies, deployment strategies, and business performance metrics.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, adept at establishing effective working relationships with leadership, field sales managers, directors, and supporting departments.
  • Excellent communicator in fast-paced environments at all organizational levels.
  • Proficient in interpreting data sets to extract meaningful insights and inform decision-making.
  • Exceptional skills in presentation development and delivery.
  • Excellent organizational and project management abilities.
  • Capacity to multitask and maintain flexibility in a dynamic, ever-changing environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills are essential.
  • Positive, proactive attitude.
  • Proficient in using a variety of software applications, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Salesforce, and other relevant tools.
  • Ability to clearly and effectively present information to top management, sales teams, and travel agents.
  • Willingness to travel minimally as needed.
