Our company is seeking a Permanent Lead Data Scientist to join our dynamic team. This opportunity is ideal for a seasoned professional with a strong background in the Finance industry, particularly in FinTech. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing advanced analytics, including predictive models, credit models, and pricing models. This role requires a deep understanding of machine learning and predictive analytics, with a minimum of 8+ years of relevant experience. The Lead Data Scientist will work closely with business stakeholders, data engineers, and other data scientists to deliver data-driven solutions that drive our business forward.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and development of predictive models, credit models, and pricing models.
- Use advanced statistical techniques and machine learning algorithms to analyze complex data sets.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business needs and identify opportunities for leveraging company data to drive business solutions.
- Develop custom data models and algorithms to apply to data sets.
- Use predictive modeling to increase and optimize customer experiences, revenue generation, ad targeting, and other business outcomes.
- Strong teaching and mentoring skills for the purpose of building up talent and delegating responsibilities to ensure maximum productivity and grow the team
- Coordinate with different functional teams to implement models and monitor outcomes.
- Develop processes and tools to monitor and analyze model performance and data accuracy.
- Advise senior management on the potential impact of new and existing data-driven initiatives.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 8+ years of experience as a Data Scientist.
- Proven experience in the FinTech industry.
- Extensive knowledge of credit models, pricing models, and predictive analytics.
- Strong problem-solving skills with an emphasis on product development.
- Experience using statistical computer languages (R, Python, SQL, etc.) to manipulate data and draw insights from large data sets.
- Knowledge of a variety of machine learning techniques (clustering, decision tree learning, artificial neural networks, etc.) and their real-world advantages/drawbacks.
- Knowledge of advanced statistical techniques and concepts (regression, properties of distributions, statistical tests, and proper usage, etc.) and experience with applications.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for coordinating across teams.
- A drive to learn and master new technologies and techniques.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong leadership skills with a proven ability to guide a team towards success.
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field is preferred.
