Position Summary
Coordinates comprehensive organization-wide infection surveillance, prevention and control program in accordance with current requirements of regulatory, government and accrediting/licensing agencies and organizational policies and procedures. Duties include surveillance for healthcare-associated infections (HAIs); collection, analysis, interpretation and reporting of surveillance data; outbreak investigation; and program evaluation.
Education
- B.S. Degree in Nursing, Microbiology, Public Health, Medical Technology, or related field required. Related license or certification. (Required)
- Masters in Nursing, Public Health, or related field preferred. Related license or certification. (Preferred)
Experience
- 3 years of experience in clinical/patient care services or relevant health care position, plus (Required)
- 2 years minimum experience working in Infection Prevention (Required)
Certifications
- CIC certification from the Certification Board of Infection Control and Epidemiology (CBIC) (Required)
Special Skills
- Proficiency and strength in analytical skills, problem solving with strong oral and written communication skills and collaboration inter and intra departmentally (Required)
- Displays the ability to implement evidence-based guidelines, and deal with conflict and management of change. (Required)
- Self motivated, autonomous, detail oriented and organized approach to daily and routine work. (Required)
- Expertise in data collection and analysis, report writing, and data presentation to staff , management and leadership. (Required)
- Familiar with software technologies, excel and other office products to support presentations, data analysis and reporting. (Required)
- Knowledge and experience in areas of patient care practices, microbiology, asepsis, cleaning, disinfection and sterilization, adult education, infectious diseases, epidemiology, statistics, communication and program administration. (Required)
- Excellent oral and written communication skills. (Required)
