Under the direction of the Director of HR, the HR Generalist is responsible for overseeing onboarding activities including needed off-site representation, HRIS and payroll internal support & department training and provides support on internal policy enforcement and application. Administers the Benefits programs and internal support thereof. Directly support the efforts and initiatives of the HR Director and the HR department to exceed departmental and organizational goals. Supports and applies the mission and values of Bayley Senior Care Corporation.
1. Responsible for daily supervision of HR Business Office tasks.
2. Responsible for the onboarding & application process, interviewing, reference checks, fingerprint process (in accordance with SB160), background checks, offer process, personnel files, and exit interviews.
3. Supports HR Director with the hiring process by assessing candidate qualifications with organizational needs and job requirements. Coordinates campus-wide job postings, internal application process, new hire orientation process and ensures timely processing of new hire documentation.
4. Supports HR Director on policy application, conflict resolution, labor law compliance and campus-wide practices.
5. Oversees the benefits administration including enrollments and claims processing as needed. Interacts with providers and employees concerning benefit related questions & plan changes.
6. Supports HR Director to ensures procedures and practices are in compliance with applicable Federal and State employment laws regarding, hours, wages, immigration laws, FMLA, EEOC, workers’ and unemployment compensation.
7. Supports HR Director with unemployment hearings.
8. Provides input on personnel policies, procedures, job descriptions, wage scales, benefits, and other related Human Resource issues.
9. Maintains employee records up-to-date by processing employee status changes in timely fashion.
10. In combination with HR Director, designs and implements as required/requested training for supervisory and support staff on policy administration and compliance.
11. Supports HR Director with departmental HRIS, training updates and other related activities to ensure data accuracy and HR compliance.
12. Provides support and handling in the upkeep of all State Audit files needed for employee file system.
13. Management of the DePaul Cristo Rey Student program and placement.
14. Oversees the annual employee health fair and all wellness incentive programs.
15. Participates in and oversees employee engagement activities
May perform other duties as requested or assigned
- Associate degree (Bachelor’s preferred) in business, communications, human resources, or related field
- Computer literate with proficiencies in Microsoft Office products including Excel, Word, and HRIS systems
- Proficient in applicable HR related laws, benefits applications, and Employee onboarding tasks
- Minimum of 2 years experience in HR/Benefits/4+ years progressive HR experience in a multi-facility or health care setting preferred
- Must have ability to work with detail and accuracy in a fast-paced environment with multiple and competing priorities
- HR Certification a plus
