TelevisaUnivision is seeking a detail-oriented, deadline-driven Content Format Editor to join the Production and Technical Operations team to support Univision Noticias Live, our around-the-clock Spanish-language streaming news service on VIX. This position plays an essential role in ensuring all content is formatted and delivered for playout on the streaming service to drive viewer satisfaction.

The Content Format Editor will support the Production and Technical Operations Team by reviewing all media assets received from internal and third-party productions to ensure all technical deliverable requirements are properly met, creating the necessary version(s) for internal clients or for distribution.

The successful candidate will be organized, detail-oriented and deadline-driven, as well as very comfortable learning and operating within Univision’s digital media environment, both onsite and remotely as needed. As this is a 24-hour a day news service, this individual would be on-call during off-hours or weekends to support urgent tasks when necessary.


• Ingest, organize, retrieve and distribute multiple media assets for post-production and distribution workflows.

• Use of multiple NLE systems for organization of editorial bins, editing sequences and transformation of media and metadata according to client needs.

• Edit media assets to comply with formatting, standards and rights requirements as directed.

• Create air-master version for streaming service according to playout specifications for video, audio and captions.

• Organize and manage data associated to media files and workflows within the department.

• Perform partial or full evaluation of media assets at the original master level to ensure it matches with company requirements and technical/quality standards. Generate report of evaluation of media assets.

• Assist in checking all programs that have failed external QC and make necessary revisions in order to get files to pass for distribution.

• Support Program Scheduling team with daily revision of missing media reports and submit missing assets to Playout Operations.

• Submit video, captioning and subtitling assets into Content Distribution system for syndication to On-Demand, OTT video, Social Media Platforms, etc.

• Consolidate and archive original and edited media assets in MAM and PAM to ensure all necessary content and elements are available for distribution agreements.

• Manage incoming/outgoing physical assets inventory within the department.


• Bachelor’s Degree in broadcasting, digital/new media, film studies or related field

• 3+ years experience.

• Bilingual – Fluent in English and Spanish, written and verbal.

• Strong understanding of digital media environment, i.e. file formats, codecs and digital delivery formats.

• Knowledge of media asset management and archiving systems, including metadata creation, file management and storage.

• Proficient on AVID Media Composer, Adobe Premiere and Final Cut Pro.

• Familiar with Content Distribution Workflows and Platforms.

• Exceptional organizational and time management skills, able to manage many projects moving at different deadline speeds.

• Work effectively in a team environment. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
