Physical Requirements
The physical requirements of this position include regularly sitting at a computer workstation for extended periods of time and performing tasks with repetitive motions (such as typing); occasionally standing or walking with objects weighing up to 10 lbs.; and occasional job-related travel.

Job Summary
The Denials Analyst will be responsible for pulling denial data, analyzing root cause, disseminating detailed reviews to appropriate teams. This position will establish goals based on Epic Pulse, Epic Denial Rates, AR aged accounts and high dollar denials. Serve as the primary communication liaison for clinical department leadership regarding denial investigation and promote Patient Financial Services initiatives. Responsible for reporting on aged denials and trends. Accountable for monitoring payer issues and payer relations. Responsibilities include working with dedicated internal resources for tracking and quantifying payer delays, monitoring Epic payer scorecards and reporting identified payer issues increasing denials to the revenue partners. Performs other revenue cycle projects and initiatives as directed by Director of Denial Prevention and Management.
Skills / Knowledge / Abilities
The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge and experience with data analysis and reporting; compliance and process improvement; payer denials and completing denial appeals; a proficient understanding of the Revenue Cycle process and managed care contracts; strong analytical, critical-thinking, problem-solving, time management, follow-through, and planning and organizational skills; the ability to multi-task with a high regard for confidentiality, accuracy, and attention to detail; excellent communication skills, both written and verbal; experience with and knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically the applications Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel; in-depth HIPAA knowledge and medical, financial, and contractual terminology. Would prefer proficient knowledge of medical coding (ICD-10, HCPCS, CPT), the ability to meet goals in a fast-paced setting without sacrificing quality or accuracy; and an individual who provides exceptional customer service.
