Royal Caribbean Group’s Technical Private Destinations Team has an exciting career opportunity for a full time Manager, Construction reporting to the Director, Technical Private Destinations.


This position will be working onsite from Miami. | Travel requirements are up to 70%

Position Summary :


Manager Technical, Private Destinations, is responsible for the comprehensive oversight and management of all construction and facilities operations related to the Private Destinations and Beach Clubs. This role involves leading technical teams and coordinating maintenance efforts to ensure that projects are executed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The Technical Senior Project Manager collaborates seamlessly with cross-functional departments and subject matter experts, facilitating optimal resource allocation and knowledge sharing essential for the success of construction initiatives.

Reporting to the Director of Technical, the Manager of Technical, Private Destinations plays a central role in aligning project strategies with the organization’s overarching goals. This individual is dedicated to fostering teamwork, encouraging open communication, and maintaining direct engagement with on-site management teams, contractors, and local stakeholders.



Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Lead and manage the planning, design, and construction phases of each assigned project.
  • Review architectural designs, engineering plans, and technical specifications to ensure compliance with regulations and project goals.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, contractors, and consultants to achieve high-quality and cost-effective project execution.
  • Ensure all construction work adheres to local building codes, zoning laws, and environmental standards.
  • Provide guidance and leadership to the operations or facilities at the Private Destinations and Beach Clubs when assigned by Director of Technical, ensuring all areas are maintained to the highest standards.
  • Develop and implement operational procedures and protocols to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Oversee the maintenance and repair of facilities, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, and other infrastructure.
  • Manage vendor relationships, negotiate contracts, and ensure timely delivery of services and supplies.
  • Oversee the installation, integration, and maintenance of MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) systems.
  • Work with HVAC, power distribution, water treatment, fire protection, and waste management systems to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Coordinate with utility providers to secure infrastructure requirements such as electricity, water, and telecom systems.
  • Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring cost control and efficient resource allocation.
  • Prepare project timelines, milestone tracking, and risk mitigation plans.
  • Use project management tools (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project, Procore) to track progress and report on key performance indicators.
  • Establish and oversee preventive and corrective maintenance programs for the destination.
  • Develop facilities management protocols to ensure safety, sustainability, and operational excellence.
  • Serve as the main point of contact between technical staff, engineers, contractors, and regulatory authorities.
  • Ensure compliance with all legal, health & safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and quality control assessments.

Qualifications :


  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • PMP (Project Management Professional), LEED, or Facilities Management certification is a plus.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • A minimum of 8-10 years of experience in construction project management, facilities operations, and maintenance, preferably in the private destination or hospitality industry.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and regulations, as well as facilities management best practices.
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work effectively under pressure.
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools.
  • Certification in Project Management (PMP) or Facilities Management (FMP) is a plus.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, BIM, Bluebeam software for design review.
  • Knowledge of MEP systems, HVAC, and utility infrastructure.
  • Experience in budget management, scheduling tools (Primavera/MS Project), and risk analysis.
  • Experience with smart building technologies, energy efficiency solutions, and sustainability practices.
