Repetitive motion. Job-related travel. Standing or walking with objects up to 10lbs. Lifting, pushing, and/or pulling objects up to 50lbs.

Shift |
This role requires a flexible schedule based on athletic event demands. Work hours will include weekdays, evenings, and weekends depending on practice schedules, games, and special events. Some travel to away games and tournaments will be required.

Job Summary |
UK HealthCare Sports Medicine is seeking a dedicated and dynamic Athletic Trainer assigned to Kentucky State University.
As an Athletic Trainer assigned to Kentucky State University, your primary focus will be the daily medical coverage, injury prevention, assessment, rehabilitation, and return-to-play planning for athletes within the university’s athletics system. You’ll act as a liaison between players, coaches, and healthcare professionals to ensure the health, safety, and well-being of athletes. Additional duties include: We are looking for a candidate who excels in communication, adaptability, and relationship-building, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented, and evolving sports environment. |
Skills / Knowledge / Abilities |
• Strong understanding of sports injury prevention, evaluation, and rehabilitation techniques.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with athletes, coaches, and families. • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment. • Proficient in EMR documentation and basic administrative tasks. • Commitment to continuing education and evidence-based clinical practice. |

Preferred Education/Experience |
• Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training required; Master’s degree preferred.
• National Athletic Trainers’ Association Board of Certification (NATA BOC) – Required • Kentucky Board of Medical Licensure (KBML) – Licensure or eligibility at time of hire • Experience working with collegiate athletes. • Prior outreach/field-based AT experience preferred. |
