The role you’ll contribute:

The Cytotechnologist performs anatomical pathology procedures as licensed. Requires the exercise of independent judgement under minimum supervision. Work customarily involves procedures, which require a high degree of theoretical and practical knowledge, and expertise in licensed area(s).

The value you’ll bring to the team:

·         Performs analytical activities related to: 1) microscopic evaluation and reporting of negative gynecological thin layer slide preparations and 2) microscopic evaluation and formulation of an opinion for the pathologist of abnormal gynecological thin layer, non-gynecological, and fine needle aspiration slide preparations. Correlate current cases with previous cytologic specimens where indicated.

·         Performs assigned pre-and post-analytical activities related to tests assigned, including specimen collection and processing, quality control, equipment maintenance, inventory control, quality assurance, and proficiency testing procedures.

·         Performs and results molecular testing and/or ancillary testing from the specimen vials and correlates with 

morphologic findings.

·         Completes routine screenings for cell specimens, reports results, and documents daily workload records


·         Processes specimens for analysis, according to specifications related to the type of specimen


The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:


Minimum qualifications:


·         Bachelor’s Degree


·      Successful completion of a CAAHEP accredited cytology or cytotechnology program OR certified by a certification agency approved by HHS OR qualified and served as a cytotechnologist in a CLIA-certified laboratory as of December 28, 2024, and have done so continuously since December, 28, 2024.



  Preferred qualifications:


·         Master’s Degree


·         3 technical experience


·         Specialist in Cytotechnology (SCT)


·         Cytotechnologist (CT ASCP)
