The Chicago White Sox seeks an experienced Paralegal professional to provide support to our General Counsel and Assistant General Counsel in all facets of our internal legal department. The primary focus of this role will be contract administration, litigation management and overall departmental administrative support in all legal and corporate governance matters.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Contract Administration:
- Assemble, draft, review, process and manage all sponsorship and vendor contract generations, including development and maintenance of master contract template file[s], drafting of sponsorship agreements.
- Pre-counsel review/analysis of vendor generated contracts.
- Maintenance of completed contract databases; monitor contracts for expiration and significant event dates; and contract insurance and indemnification review.
- Assist in the development of a contract review system.
Litigation Management:
- Oversee litigation discovery and automated litigation hold system.
General Department Oversight and Assistance:
- Corporate Governance: Maintain minute books and prepare annual minutes and updates.
- Privacy Database: Administer responses to data privacy requests (e.g., California Consumer Privacy Act requests).
- Intellectual Property: Interact with MLB and outside counsel on renewal of trademarks and submissions for new filings.

Legal Project Administration:
- Assist the legal department on one-time projects including assembly of relevant documents; summary of documents; gathering of information and internet searches concerning parties or other information.
- Low level legal or background research on the area of law or specific transactions; coordination of meetings and general project administration.
Office Administration:
- Assist the GC and Assistant General Counsel with administrative duties including matter timeline and status reports.
- File maintenance
- Budget preparation
- Coordination of meetings and general project administration.
- Miscellaneous office matters and special projects as they arise.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field of study; Paralegal Certification preferred.
- 4 years of direct paralegal experience; preferably supporting at least two attorneys.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Word/Excel and Adobe.
- Ability to draft moderate to complex, non-routine contractual instruments in a form complete enough for review by counsel.
- Strong analytical skills
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communications skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects on deadline.
- Must have the ability to work in a fast paced, high-volume environment.
- Ability to collaborate on projects with multiple departments and contacts, both internally and externally.
Compensation:
- $67,000 – $72,000
