Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Mechanical Engineering Manager who will be responsible for leading the mechanical engineering department.
This department is responsible for the design and development of mechanical components and products that relate to H2scan’s Advanced Hydrogen Sensor Technology. This role blends technical mechanical engineering expertise with skilled leadership and project management responsibilities.
The ideal candidate will have a will a strong background in mechanical engineering principals and a track record of delivering innovative ideas to well-engineered industrial products.
Essential Responsibilities
• Lead and manage various mechanical engineering functions related to new product development and the support of past released products.
• Facilitates communication among stakeholders and engineers, ensuring specifications, budgets, and deadlines are clearly communicated and understood.
• Implement H2scan’s Visual Brand Language into all new products and selected released products.
• Cooperate with R&D, Manufacturing, Document Control, and Quality.
• Collaborate with electrical and firmware engineering teams to ensure full system integration
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and internal guidelines.
• Establish, implement, and maintain administrative policies, procedures, and standards.
• Prepare and execute departmental budget.
• Maintains knowledge of new trends, developments, technologies, materials, and best practices; apply this knowledge to continually improve product lines and production efficiency.
• Support supplier selection through to production approval and launch.
• Support the full product lifecycle, including conceptualization, design, CAD modeling, prototyping, and production
• Review work and projects for technical accuracy.
• Champion and manage ARAS (Product Lifecycle Management Software)
Supervisory Responsibilities:
• Support recruiting, interviews, hires, and trains of new engineering staff.
• Oversee the daily workflow of the department.
• Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations.
Essential Qualifications, Skills & Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering
• At least ten years of related experience required.
• Strong knowledge of SolidWorks
• Familiarity with product lifecycle management (PLM) systems.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership abilities.
