Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead weekly labor scheduling meetings, facilitating problem-solving discussions to address immediate scheduling challenges and mitigate future issues.
- Develop, analyze, and manage a detailed master schedule for a multi-site construction environment.
- Maintain integrated master and sub-project schedules, ensuring consistency in horizontal and vertical schedule logic.
- Review project progress and schedule updates to anticipate potential impacts, providing proactive recommendations to the project team.
- Effectively communicate schedule updates, presenting targeted and relevant information in clear formats.
- Assist in determining staffing needs, considering internal labor, external partners, schedules, and crew availability.
- Monitor project progress, establish timetables, and identify schedule variances.
- Support the development and maintenance of strong trade partner relationships.
- Update schedules based on regular meetings, construction coordination updates, and field verifications, collaborating with Project Managers, Superintendents, and Crew Leads.
- Prepare periodic status reports to inform management about labor, equipment, productivity, and schedule status.
- Track and coordinate schedules across various project phases, ensuring milestone alignment.
- Identify and alert Project Managers of potential schedule delays while providing recommendations to maintain project timelines.
- Work closely with the project management team to set project goals, analyze progress, and update the sales team on upcoming project openings.
- Monitor schedule performance, analyze variances, and develop recovery plans as needed.
- Understand team and individual strengths to optimize crew assignments for project success.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Minimum of 3 years of combined construction experience, preferably encompassing hands-on, supervisory, and office-based roles.
- Prior experience in construction planning and scheduling is highly preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Project is required; subject matter expertise in scheduling software is a plus.
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel).
- Ability to build, modify, and monitor schedules, generate reports, and assign manpower resources.
- In-depth knowledge of construction project timelines, critical path scheduling, and trade-specific labor needs.
- Ability to interpret construction plans, documents, and specifications to determine labor requirements.
- Familiarity with standard scheduling concepts, construction practices, and multi-trade project coordination.
- Strong leadership in setting and managing meetings to establish effective project control systems.
- Problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze challenges, propose logical solutions, and implement decisions.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage deadlines, and multi-task efficiently.
- Analytical thinking to identify root causes of issues and propose well-reasoned solutions.
