As a Seller Acquisition Digital Merchandiser for Marketplace at Nordstrom, you are working towards pitching and signing new brands to grow GMV for the marketplace program. A deep understanding of brand and trend knowledge is essential to assess brand fit for Nordstrom’s marketplace. We are looking for someone who isn’t afraid to roll up their sleeves on a growing team, take initiative in iterating on processes, and continuously enhance strategies for optimal business performance.

Bonus for any experience in a fashion buying organization, as well as familiarity with Mirakl, ChannelAdvisor, CommerceHub, or other marketplace technologies.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Acquire sellers based on marketplace sourcing strategies that deliver against specific category frameworks built by Category Management
  • Vet sellers and strategies with an adept understanding of what drives a high-quality digital experience, ranging from technical capability assessment + item data quality, all the way to fulfillment and after purchase experiences
  • Analyze data to inform opportunities that unlock accelerated growth for your business, working smarter not harder to deliver against GMV goals when everything is an opportunity.
  • Collaborate directly with Category Management to align on sourcing strategies against defined frameworks within the category – balancing proactive and reactive go to market strategies to grow and scale the marketplace business
  • Partner directly with marketplace brands and sellers to grow the business, maintain competitive selection and deliver a best-in-class customer experience
  • Negotiate strategic contracts with top brands and sellers, with Nordstrom best interests in mind

The seller acquisition associate is responsible for achieving key results (OKRs) and be able to be flexible and pivot as we move forward to maximize results. As a newer team within digital, the first year will be about building the functional processes and operations to support the foundation of our marketplace business. As we scale, the associate could shift to specialize in specific categories and becoming a subject matter expert in the best sellers for marketplace in that category, and have the skill to sign long-term, scalable business of those sellers for Nordstrom’s marketplace.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Fashion Merchandising, or related field.
  • Proven experience in sales, business development, or a similar role, preferably within the retail or e-commerce industry.
  • Excellent Excel skills with the ability to analyze data and maintain detailed records.
  • Strong understanding of fashion trends and brand knowledge, particularly within the context of Nordstrom’s brand identity.
  • Exceptional communication to effectively pitch the marketplace program to potential sellers.
  • Detail-oriented mindset with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Collaborative team player with a proactive approach to problem-solving and achieving goals.
  • Comfortable with constant change, building and iterating processes regularly
  • Experience working in marketplace models a plus

Pay Range Details


The pay range(s) below are provided in compliance with state specific laws. Pay ranges may be different in other locations.

Washington: $80,000-$132,000 annually



This position may be eligible for performance-based incentives/bonuses. Benefits include 401k, medical/vision/dental/life/disability insurance options, PTO accruals, Holidays, and more.
